Pay: $22.00-$25.00/Hr

Position Description

Summary of Position

Provide support for individuals with substance use disorders in various settings by connecting them to resources, offering emotional support and accountability, transportation, and operating the 24/7 recovery hotline. Provide ongoing recovery coach care to individuals incarcerated at Winnebago County Jail and other community partners. Connect individuals to the recovery community in the Fox Valley. Provide support to families and loved ones impacted by substance use. Navigate the complex systems involved in treating substance use disorders. Facilitate appropriate referrals for SUD treatment and support. Utilize lived-experience to enhance interactions with individuals and families. Candidates with a history of addiction and recovery are preferred.

Required Education, Experience, and Training

1. High School Diploma or equivalent

2. Certified Recovery Coach or Peer Support Specialist preferred – will provide training within 6 months of hire if not certified at time of hire

3. Experience working with individuals who have substance use disorders

4. Lived experience with addiction and recovery is preferred

5. Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and no recent traffic violations are required

6. Trained in Naloxone administration preferred

Essential Duties

1. Offer ongoing recovery coach services utilizing the CCAR training model for intervention and support for clients in various settings (Winnebago County Jail, Oshkosh Fire Department – EMS, local shelters, crisis center, residential treatment centers, Solutions campus)

2. Assist in operating the 24/7 Recovery Hotline with some on-call duties as needed

3. Transportation of clients from various settings to treatment/support destination

4. Respond with compassion and care to crisis situations involving substance use and, at times, mental health crises. This includes rapid response to emergent cases as referred by community partners and/or on Solutions campus (overdoses, emergent risk of relapse, individuals who under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol)

5. Become knowledgeable of all systems involved with treating substance use disorders and facilitate appropriate referrals when necessary

6. Tend to Solutions Recovery Club matters as needed

7. Accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions

Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent professional communication skills in the work-setting, with referring agencies, and the community at large

2. Possess good organizational skills to manage workload and deliver effective services in a timely manner

3. Ability to meet clients in various practice settings both at Solutions and the broader community

4. Knowledge of basic recovery principles and the ability to effectively intervene utilizing those principles

5. Ability to work as part of a team and utilize supervision for feedback and direction

6. Ability to perform all work duties utilizing exceptional ethics, morals, and boundaries

7. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet the need of the 24/7 recovery hotline

8. Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Outlook, client database systems, and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive)

9. Ability to use standard office equipment including telephone, computer, printer, photocopier, scanner, and work cell phone devices

10. Standard writing and typing skills expected
